Bourvil - Short Biography


- André Raimbourg, better known as Bourvil, was a French actor, singer and comedian.

- Born in 1917 into a Norman farming family, he was inspired by Fernandel and pursued a career in the arts.

- He found success after World War II with songs like "Les Crayons" and "À bicyclette", playing a naive and simple-minded Norman peasant.

- He also appeared in popular shows and films, including "La Route fleurie", "Pacifico" and "La Bonne Planque".

- In 1956, he won the Best Actor Award at the Venice Film Festival for his role as a black merchant during the Occupation in "La Traversée".
