The protagonist is in a car with her partner, who is asleep on her shoulder, while they are heading back home from a sermon. Her partner is nice sometimes, but not always what she wants, and although there may be better, she doesn't feel she deserves it. She dreams of raising a baby by the lake and wonders if her partner will make her a mother. However, if she were to get married to someone who doesn't make her happy, the protagonist would object out of love for her friend.
