"Closer" is a hit by American DJ duo The Chainsmokers, featuring American singer Halsey, on vocals. The song was released on July 29, 2016, on Disruptor Records and Columbia Records. It was written by a group of musicians, including Andrew Taggart (one of The Chainsmokers who also provides vocals in the track), Halsey, Shaun Frank, Freddy Kennett, Isaac Slade and Joe King. The song was produced by the Chainsmokers, with Halsey's vocals produced by DJ Swivel. "Closer" is a future pop and bass song with a retro style synthesizer in the chorus.
