- It was written by band member Lolly Vegas and produced by him and his brother Pat Vegas.
- It was originally featured on the album Wovoka.
- Later, the song also appeared on many of the band's "Greatest Hits" albums, as well as on numerous 1970s compilations.
- On April 22, 1974, the song was certified by the RIAA with a gold record, suggesting that over half a million copies were sold in the United States.
- In April 1974, the song reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100.
