Robyn - Short Biography

- Robin Miriam Carlsson, better known as Robyn, is a Swedish singer, songwriter, record producer and DJ.
- Her 1995 debut album, Robyn Is Here, produced two Top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100: "Do You Know" and "Show Me Love."
- Her second and third albums, My Truth (1999) and Don't Stop the Music (2002), were released in Sweden.
- Robyn has enjoyed worldwide success with her music, winning numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards and two BRIT Awards.
- She has released eight studio albums, two extended plays and a mix album during her career.

Robyn's song "Dancing on My Own" was released in 2010. It was written by Robyn and her co-writer and producer Klas Åhlund. The song was inspired by a party where Robyn was the only person dancing. She stated that the song was a "sad club song".

The song was a commercial success, reaching number two on the singles chart in Sweden and number nine in the UK. In 2011, the song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance.
