- Commercially, the song topped the charts in 45 countries and reached the top 10 in nine other countries, making it Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's most successful song to date.
- With over 2 million copies sold, "Despacito" is one of the best-selling Latin American songs in the United States.
- The official video for "Despacito" became the fastest video to reach 2 billion views on YouTube on June 24, 2017, just 163 days after its release.
- On August 4, 2017, at 11:56 p.m., 205 days after its release, the clip became the most viewed video on YouTube, surpassing 3 billion views; it was the first video to reach that milestone (followed a few hours later by Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again").
