- Dis, quand reviendras-tu? is a song by Barbara. It was released in 1962.
- The song was composed for Barbara's great love of the time, Hubert Ballay, an unofficial post-decolonization diplomat and businessman. The narrator is a woman separated from her lover, to whom she turns in the hope of his return.
- Barbara meets Hubert Ballay, a diplomat in the Ivory Coast in 1959. She left to live with him for three months in 1961, in Abidjan, where she sang in the most famous local strip club, "Le Refuge", opened by the gangster Jo Attia who hired the singer, charmed by her voice. Back in Paris, the singer waits for months for the return of her lover, who is passionate about Africa and asks the artist to leave L'Écluse, the Parisian nightclub on the Left Bank, to join him. She wrote him two hundred letters and dedicated one of her very first songs to him, in which she threatened to find a comforter: "I would go and warm myself in another sun." When Ballay finally returns to settle in France, the rupture is consummated. Barbara will have other loves as the painter Luc Simon, the actor Pierre Arditi or the accordionist Roland Romanelli.
