The protagonist (Ti Moune) finds a boy (Daniel) who has been in a car accident and takes care of him, despite opposition from others in the village who believe he deserves to die. Ti Moune believes that the gods saved her life for a reason and it is to save Daniel's life. Meanwhile, Daniel's father is searching for him and Papa Ge, a spirit of death, is also hunting for him. Everyone in the village prays for Ti Moune and Daniel's safety.
