The protagonist, Don, goes outside and wishes he was drunk. He thinks about something he said that sounded stupid and tries to forget about it. He tries to pee but can't, and then decides to go back inside. Inside, he sees couples and friends talking, but he feels distant and watched from the outside. Later, he leaves and drives, howling and laughing at himself. When he wakes up the next day, he knows he has to take responsibility for his actions.
