- "Don't Stop the Music" is a dance song by singer Rihanna, from her 2007 album Good Girl Gone Bad.
- It is the second single from the album released in France, but in other countries it is the third, like in the UK where it was preceded by the single "Shut Up and Drive".
- Originally, it was supposed to be the third US single, but in the end the song was only sent to radio stations and edited for club play.
- "Hate That I Love You," featuring singer Ne-Yo, was chosen as the third U.S. single instead.
- However, many radio stations, including New York radio station Z100, began playing the song heavily in November, leading the record company to release the song as the fourth single.
- The song even achieved the rare feat of debuting at #1 on Z100's interactive 9@9 chart.
- A cover by jazz singer Jamie Cullum was included on his 2009 album The Pursuit.
- By the end of its run, the song had sold 8 million copies.
- The song features the vocal melody of Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'".
