The protagonist and his friends are hanging out late at night, drinking and smoking. They stop at a diner to get some food. As they get out of the car, they hear a fight happening behind them. One person is a drug addict and the other is a drug dealer. The drug dealer threatens to shoot the drug addict if he doesn't pay him. The protagonist's friend suggests they go inside and ignore the fight. However, the protagonist can't walk away and wonders what will happen to the drug addict. While inside the diner, they hear gunshots and run outside. They discover that the drug addict has been killed and a young girl has been shot. The protagonist is heartbroken and tries to help the girl, but no one pays attention or helps. He realizes that for the media and others, it's just another story, but to him, it's a tragedy. He decides that he won't be returning to the diner and leaves the scene, wiping away his tears.
