- Their biggest hit was "Bridge over Troubled Water" (1970), which reached #1 on the world singles chart.

Since its creation, it is estimated that more than 4,000 versions of the melody have been produced, as well as 300 sets of lyrics. In 2004, Peru declared this song as part of its national cultural heritage. This song is now considered the second national anthem of Peru. It is the most famous Peruvian song in the English-speaking world, because of a cover version made in 1970 by Simon and Garfunkel on their album Bridge over Troubled Water. Their version is called "El Cóndor Pasa (If I Could)".
