- Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, better known as Sting, is an English musician and actor.
- He was the lead singer, songwriter and bassist of the new wave rock band The Police from 1977 to 1986.
- He began his solo career in 1985 and has included elements of rock, jazz, reggae, classical, new-age and worldbeat in his music.
- Sting has won 16 Grammy Awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award.
- He has also written and starred in several films and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

-The song reached #16 on the UK Singles Chart and #2 on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks.
-The song is featured on Sting's first compilation, Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting 1984-1994 (1994) and on the compilation The Very Best of Sting and The Police (1997).
In 2006, Sting re-recorded the song as a bonus track on the album Songs from the Labyrinth (2006), with a lute accompaniment.
