Kenny Loggins - Short Biography

- Kenneth Clark Loggins is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter.
- He recorded with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1970 and seven albums under the name Loggins and Messina from 1972 to 1977.
- His first contributions to soundtracks date back to A Star Is Born in 1976 and he is known as the king of the movie soundtrack.
- He has won a Daytime Emmy Award, two Grammy Awards and has been nominated for an Academy Award, a Tony Award and a Golden Globe Award.
- Finally Home was released in 2013, shortly after Loggins formed the band Blue Sky Riders with Gary Burr and Georgia Middleman.

- It was released in January 1984 as the first of Loggins' two singles from the film of the same name.
- The song spent three weeks at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, becoming Loggins' only chart hit, and was the first of two number one hits from the film.
- The song was very well received, and is the most recognizable song recorded by Loggins.
- It was covered by country music artist Blake Shelton for the 2011 remake of the 1984 film.
- It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Film.
