- Creedence Clearwater Revival was an American rock band from El Cerrito, California.
- The band was formed in 1967 and initially consisted of John Fogerty, Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford.
- The members had been playing together since 1959, first under the name Blue Velvets, then as Golliwogs.
- John Fogerty was the lead singer, lead guitarist and main songwriter of the group.
- The band was known by various names, including Creedence and CCR.
