Kiss is an American rock band formed in New York in 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. Known for their makeup and stage outfits, the band had significant success in the 1970s with shocking rock performances. The band went through several lineup changes, but Stanley and Simmons remained the only consistent members. After a period of nostalgia in the 1990s, the original lineup reformed and became hugely successful. Kiss is considered one of the most influential rock bands of all time and one of the biggest sellers, having sold over 100 million albums worldwide.
