🎶 Half-Breed song analysis
The song tells the story of a woman who is half Cherokee and half white. Her father married a pure Cherokee, but her mother was ashamed of her. She faced discrimination from both sides and was constantly referred to as "mixed race," which led her to hate the word. She struggled with acceptance and left home at 19, but could not escape her biracial identity.
