The protagonist and her partner became close during their freshman year of college, when they would leave their friends who were smoking to go on drives together. Now, the protagonist is about to move south and her partner is moving to a town she's never heard of. They wish they had more time together before they have to grow up and be apart. But they plan to see each other when they come home for the summer, where they can do whatever they want. Although they will eventually have different lives and families, for now, they are looking forward to being together again.
