Foreigner - Short Biography

- Foreigner is a British-American rock band formed in 1976 by Mick Jones, Ian McDonald and Lou Gramm.
- Their self-titled debut album went five times platinum in the U.S. and reached the top 10 in Canada, Australia and North America.
- Double Vision was even more successful, reaching #3 in North America with two hit singles.
- Head Games (1979) reached number five in North America, with two top 20 singles.
- 4 (1981) reached #1 (for 10 weeks) in the U.S. and #2 in Canada, becoming Foreigner's most popular album outside North America.
- 1982: Release of the album Records, which sold 7 million copies in the United States.
- 1984: The single "I Want to Know What Love Is" topped the charts in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.
- Inside Information (1987) saw a sharp decline in sales, reaching the Top 10 in only a few European countries.
- Unusual Heat (1991), Mr. Moonlight (1994) and Can't Slow Down (2009) were not big commercial successes.
- Foreigner is one of the best-selling bands of all time, with worldwide sales of over 80 million records.

"I Have Waited so Long" is taken from "Double Vision", the second studio album by British-American rock band Foreigner. The album was released on June 20, 1978 by Atlantic Records, the album was recorded between December 1977 and March 1978. It was the only Foreigner album co-produced by Keith Olsen, and the last one recorded with bassist Ed Gagliardi, who was later replaced by Rick Wills. The album was a commercial success, reaching number three on the Billboard 200 and selling over seven million copies in the United States alone.
