- Tony Bennett is a retired American singer of traditional pop standards, big band, show tunes and jazz, as well as a painter.

- Bennett fought in World War II, then signed with Columbia Records, and achieved his first number one in 1951 with "Because of You."

- He reached an artistic peak in the late 1950s and recorded his signature song "I Left my Heart in San Francisco" in 1962.

- His career slowed down during the rock music era, but he made a strong comeback in the late 1980s and 1990s.

- He continued to create popular and critically acclaimed works into the 21st century and even broke a Guinness World Record in 2020 as the oldest person to release an album.
