- I Want to Break Free is a song by British rock band Queen, released in 1984.
- It is the second single from Queen's album The Works.
- In 2014, readers of Rolling Stone magazine ranked the song #10 on their list of Queen's greatest songs.
- There are two versions of I Want to Break Free: the album version and the single version. The single version is longer, with a longer introduction and solos in the middle of the song.
- The promotional singles sent to radio stations by Capitol Records included both versions of the song.
- The video for I Want to Break Free, directed by David Mallet, is a parody of the British soap opera Coronation Street.
- All the members of Queen are dressed as women in the video: Brian May as a housewife, Freddie Mercury as a maid, Roger Taylor as a student and John Deacon as an old woman.
