The protagonist is imagining what heaven would be like. They think that if heaven were an hour, it would be twilight, when fireflies start dancing and everyone's work is done. If heaven were a town, it would be their town in 1985, when everything they wanted was waiting and everyone they loved was still alive. They also think that if heaven were a pie, it would be cherry, so cool and sweet that just one bite would satisfy everyone's hunger. And if heaven were a train, it would be a fast one that could take them around the bend, and if heaven were a tear, it would be their last one, because in heaven they would be able to be in their partner's arms again. They reassure their partner not to cry for them, because everyone has to say goodbye eventually, and if heaven is like they imagine it to be, they are not afraid to die.
