Roxette - Short Biography

- Roxette is a Swedish pop rock duo, composed of Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle, formed in 1986.
- Their second album Look Sharp! was released in the late 1980s and was an international success.
- Their third album Joyride, released in 1991, was equally successful.
- Roxette had nineteen UK Top 40 hits and several US Hot 100 hits, including four number ones: "The Look", "Listen to Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love" and "Joyride".
- Other hits include "Dressed for Success", "Dangerous", and "Fading Like a Flower".

- The song "Joyride" by Swedish pop duo Roxette was the first single from their third studio album, Joyride (1991), released on February 25, 1991.
- It became one of Roxette's biggest hits, and one of the most popular singles of 1991, topping several record charts in Europe, as well as in Australia, Canada and the United States.
- Per Gessle said that the first line of the song was inspired by a note his girlfriend (now wife) left on his piano: "Hej, din tok, jag älskar dig" ("Hello, fool, I love you").
