"Just Like a Woman" is a song by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan from his seventh studio album, Blonde on Blonde, released in 1966. It is believed to have been written by Dylan on Thanksgiving Day in 1965, with some historians suggesting that he improvised the lyrics in the studio. The song has received mixed critical reactions over the years, with its sexism and misogyny being criticized. However, some have suggested that it was inspired by Dylan's relationship with folk singer Joan Baez or model Edie Sedgwick. Despite the initial criticism, the song received further praise, with Rolling Stone magazine ranking Dylan's version at number 232 on its list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. In 1966, a shorter version of the song was released as a single in the United States, reaching #33 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song also charted in other countries such as Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands and Canada.
