Green Day - Short Biography

Green Day is a highly influential rock band that formed in California in 1987 as a power trio consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and John Kiffmeyer, before Tré Cool replaced Kiffmeyer in 1990. The band was originally called Sweet Children and was part of the Bay Area punk scene, releasing its first songs on Lookout! Records. However, it was their debut album, Dookie, that marked their mainstream success, selling over 10 million copies in the United States. Green Day is often credited with helping to popularize interest in punk rock, along with other California punk bands.

The song was recorded at Jingletown Studios between February and June 2012. "Kill the DJ" is also the second song in the trilogy ¡Uno!", ¡Dos! & ¡Tré! Reprise Records and Warner Bros. released the song. The music video, directed by Samuel Bayer, was released on September 4, 2012.
