- In 1965, she won the first prize as a Luxembourg candidate in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Poupée de cire, poupée de son", written and composed by Serge Gainsbourg. This song was translated into many languages and France Gall became famous in Europe, especially in Germany, where she was very popular in the early 1970s.

- Her popularity declined in France until she met the songwriter Michel Berger
