"Magic" is a popular song by Australian-British singer Olivia Newton-John, recorded for the soundtrack of the 1980 musical fantasy film Xanadu. The song was written and produced by John Farrar and was released as the first single from the album in May 1980. It reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart on August 2, 1980, where it remained for four consecutive weeks until it was replaced by Christopher Cross' "Sailing" on August 30.
