Each mirror represents a different person in his life and he begins to feel proud and powerful. But when he reaches the end of the hall, he sees a terrifying reflection of himself. He runs away and encounters a stranger in a storm, who helps him realize that the mirrors were only reflecting illusions and the truth was in front of him all along. The man finally looks into the "mirror of his soul" and sees himself transformed and made whole.
