Prince released the song "Musicology" in 2004, which served as the title track for his album of the same name. The song is a tribute to the funk music style popularized by James Brown in the early 1970s. It is also reminiscent of Prince's song "The Work, Pt. 1" (2001), from his album The Rainbow Children.
