The song is accompanied by country music singer Kenny Rogers. It is a ballad that reached the top 10 on three major Billboard magazine charts in the spring of 1983. It reached number five on the pop chart, spent four weeks at number one on the adult contemporary chart, and finished at number six on the R&B chart. However, it was not as successful in the United Kingdom, where it only reached number 70 on the singles chart. In Canada, it peaked at #28 on the RPM Top 100 Singles chart.
