The Moody Blues - Short Biography

- The Moody Blues are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1964.
- Initially composed of keyboardist Mike Pinder, multi-instrumentalist Ray Thomas, guitarist Denny Laine, drummer Graeme Edge and bassist Clint Warwick.
- The group made its name playing rhythm and blues.
- Composition: Pinder, Thomas, Edge, guitarist Justin Hayward and bassist John Lodge.
- Graeme Edge was the only permanent member of the group throughout its history.

- Nights in White Satin is a song by British rock band The Moody Blues, released as a single on November 10, 1967.
- The song was first recorded for a BBC program called Saturday Club. This very first version was later included in the album Live at the BBC: 1967-1970. The first single version of the song was recorded on October 8 at Decca's Studio One, at the very beginning of the Days of Future Passed recording session.
- The song is in the key of E minor and uses the Neapolitan sixth chord.
- Nights in White Satin was released as a single on November 10, 1967. In January 1968, it entered at number 35 in the British charts and on February 17, 1968, it reached number 19. It sold 20,000 copies a day and stayed on the chart for eleven weeks. The single was more successful in France and reached number one for one week. It sold about 516,000 copies and became the 100th best-selling single of the 1960s in the country.
