The protagonist mocks his former rap group N.W.A. and one of its members, Ice Cube. He accuses them of being fake and selling out in New York, and denounces their image as "real niggas" wearing lipstick and lace. He also accuses them of being taken in by a white manager and of being jealous of his own success. The chorus repeats the insult "getting done without Vaseline".
