Robert Clark Seger, better known as Bob Seger, is a beloved American singer, songwriter and musician. He began his career as Bob Seger and the Last Heard in the 1960s and gained local popularity. In 1973, he formed the Silver Bullet Band, which quickly achieved national success. Seger's 1976 album Live Bullet was recorded live with the Silver Bullet Band at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan, and is a testament to his musical prowess. Throughout his career, Seger collaborated extensively with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, which appeared on many hit singles and albums.

"Old Time Rock and Roll" is a song written by George Jackson and Thomas E. Jones III, with uncredited lyrics by Bob Seger. Seger recorded it for his album "Stranger in Town" and released it as a single in 1979. The song is a nostalgic tribute to the rock and roll era, and it became one of Seger's most popular and beloved songs. It enjoyed a resurgence in popularity after being featured in the 1983 film "Risky Business," and has since become a popular music standard. In fact, it was ranked second in the Amusement & Music Operators Association's survey of the top 40 jukebox singles of all time in 1996, and was ranked as one of the songs of the century in 2001. In addition, it was ranked number 100 in the American Film Institute's 100 Years...100 Songs survey in 2004.
