The album was recorded at two renowned Hollywood studios, United Western Studios and Allen Zentz Recording. The album was a huge success, reaching number nine on the Billboard 200 and being certified double platinum by the RIAA. The album contains three top 40 singles, including "Ships," which peaked at number nine, "When I Wanted You," which peaked at number 20, and "I Don't Want to Walk Without You," which peaked at number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100.
