Donald McLean III is an iconic American singer-songwriter and guitarist, best known for his 1971 hit "American Pie". He also produced other popular singles such as "Vincent", "Dreidel" and "Wonderful Baby". His interpretations of Roy Orbison's "Crying" and the Skyliners' "Since I Don't Have You" cemented his place in music history. His music is considered a cornerstone of the loss of innocence of the first generation of rock and roll.

"Orphans Of Wealth" is a song from "Tapestry", the debut studio album by American folk singer Don McLean. The album was originally released by Mediarts Records, then re-released by United Artists after Mediarts was bought out. In addition, the album was reissued in 1981 on Liberty Records, but without the song "Three Flights Up".
