They bought a nice house and the protagonist was happy because he didn't have to worry about violence anymore. However, things didn't turn out as he had hoped. He couldn't make it to the NFL and ended up selling drugs in Palmdale instead. He got caught by the police and now has a terrible life with a nagging wife and no money. He sees his old friends from school succeeding in life and feels depressed about his own failures. The song ends with a chant of "Dale, Palmdale," which seems to be a reference to the neighborhood and a call to go back to jail.
