The song is about a special kind of shark called Reggae Shark who loves reggae music and wants to smoke ganja. Some kids meet Reggae Shark while they're smoking and one of them drowns, so the sheriff and his team try to capture him. Reggae Shark eats some drugs by accident and becomes very hungry, then he jumps on the sheriff's boat and eats him. The town celebrates Reggae Shark because he got rid of the corrupt force, but he decides to stay a Reggae Shark forever.
