"Ride Like The Wind" is the first single by American singer-songwriter Christopher Cross. The song was released in February 1980 as the first single from his self-titled debut album, which won several Grammy Awards. The song reached number two on the U.S. charts for four consecutive weeks, beaten only by Blondie's "Call Me." Christopher dedicated the song to Lowell George of the band Little Feat, who died in 1979. One of the notable features of this song is the hypnotic guitar solo by Cross himself. "Ride Like The Wind" also features backing vocals from legendary musician Michael McDonald.
