The song "Ripple" is a Grateful Dead song, first released on the album American Beauty in 1970. The song was written by guitarist and vocalist Bob Weir and lyricist Robert Hunter.

The song is a meditation on love and peace. The famous lyrics of the chorus - "Ripple in still water, When there is no pebble tossed, Nor wind to blow" - suggest that love and peace can be found in the simplest of moments in life.

The song was first performed live by the Grateful Dead on February 8, 1970, and recorded a few days later. American Beauty, which also included the songs "Friend of the Devil" and "Sugar Magnolia," is considered one of the band's best albums.
