- "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" is a song composed by Michel Berger and written by Luc Plamondon in 1978 for the rock opera Starmania.
- The song is composed on two and a half octaves to fully exploit the rare vocal range of Daniel Balavoine.
- Absent from the 1978 studio album Starmania, the song was performed for the first time on stage at the Palais des Congrès in Paris in 1979 and was included on the album Starmania, le spectacle, released the same year.
- The song was later included on the CD reissues of the album Starmania, instead of Starmania (L'Air de l'extra-terrestre).
- Daniel Balavoine will perform the song only once on television in the program Le Grand Échiquier in November 1985, a few weeks before his death.

Many performers have covered this song. Among the most faithful interpretations vocally and textually are those of the French singer Grégory Lemarchal in season 4 of Star Academy in 2004, Matthieu Blanchette in The Voice of Switzerland 2014, as well as that of the Norman singer Antoine Wend, winner of X Factor 2021 in Lithuania, or that of Dimash Qudaibergen during the Slavianski Bazar International Arts Festival in Vitebsk, Belarus, in 2015.
