Robert Clark Seger, better known as Bob Seger, is a beloved American singer, songwriter and musician. He began his career as Bob Seger and the Last Heard in the 1960s and gained local popularity. In 1973, he formed the Silver Bullet Band, which quickly achieved national success. Seger's 1976 album Live Bullet was recorded live with the Silver Bullet Band at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan, and is a testament to his musical prowess. Throughout his career, Seger collaborated extensively with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, which appeared on many hit singles and albums.

"Shakedown" is a song recorded by Bob Seger, originally featured on the soundtrack of the movie Beverly Hills Cop II. The music was composed by Harold Faltermeyer and Keith Forsey, and the lyrics were written by Seger. The song was a smash hit, topping the Billboard Hot 100, the Rock Tracks Album and the Canadian RPM 100 national singles chart in 1987. It was Seger's first and only number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and his second number one on the Album Rock Tracks chart.
