- The band was composed of Mark Knopfler, David Knopfler, John Illsley and Pick Withers.
- Dire Straits was active from 1977 to 1988 and then from 1990 to 1995.
- They were known for their hit songs such as "Sultans of Swing" and "Money for Nothing".
- The band received four Grammy Awards and sold over 120 million albums worldwide.

The album was released on October 17, 1980 by Vertigo Records internationally, Warner Bros. Records in the United States and Mercury Records in Canada. The album includes the single "Romeo and Juliet", which reached #8 on the UK Singles Chart. The album also contains "Tunnel of Love", which was featured in the Richard Gere film "An Officer and a Gentleman" (1982).
