"Suicide Blonde" was the first single from INXS' seventh studio album, titled "X", released in 1990. The song gained popularity, reaching number two in Australia, number nine in the United States and number eleven in the United Kingdom. In addition, the single reached #1 in Canada and New Zealand for two and three weeks, respectively. At the 1991 Apra Music Awards, "Suicide Blonde" won the award for most performed Australian work overseas.
