The protagonist feels stuck in a Superman role, like the actor George Reeves who played Superman. He has a long way to go in his career and hopes that his fame will show that he was meant to be a Superman. He explains that being a superhero can be hard, but he can always find comfort in his partner and hopes that even if he is taken off the air, the image of a Superman will always be there.

Don McLean - Short Biography

Donald McLean III is an iconic American singer-songwriter and guitarist, best known for his 1971 hit "American Pie". He also produced other popular singles such as "Vincent", "Dreidel" and "Wonderful Baby". His interpretations of Roy Orbison's "Crying" and the Skyliners' "Since I Don't Have You" cemented his place in music history. His music is considered a cornerstone of the loss of innocence of the first generation of rock and roll.
