"The Celts" is a track from Enya's self-titled debut album, released in March 1987 by BBC Records in the United Kingdom and Atlantic Records in the United States, is a selection of music recorded for the soundtrack of the BBC television series, The Celts. Originally titled Enya, the album was renamed The Celts for its international reissue in 1992. Four years into her solo career, Enya landed her first major project when producer Tony McAuley asked her to contribute to the soundtrack for the series. The director, David Richardson, was so impressed with the demo that he asked Enya to write all the music with her longtime recording partners, producer and arranger Nicky Ryan and lyricist Roma Ryan.
