After a three-year hiatus, Enya collaborated with longtime collaborators Nicky Ryan and Roma Ryan to write and record the album. The idea for the title track and album came from Roma Ryan's collection of poems about the islands and the designation of Sark in the Channel Islands as a Dark Sky Reserve in 2011.
