The song "The Golden Rose" is taken from American singer-songwriter Tom Petty's album Highway Companion. This is his third and final solo studio album, which was released on July 25, 2006 and reached number four on the Billboard 200. The album was produced by Jeff Lynne, who also produced Petty's highly acclaimed debut solo album, Full Moon Fever, as well as the Heartbreakers' follow-up album, Into the Great Wide Open. Petty released the album on Rick Rubin's American Recordings label and Warner Bros. Records. The tracks "Saving Grace" and "Big Weekend" were released on July 4, 2006 on the iTunes music store. It should be noted that this was Petty's only album to be distributed by American Recordings. The label went under the distribution of Columbia Records in 2007, but Warner Bros retained Petty's rights and eventually reassigned him to its subsidiary Reprise Records.
