"Think" is a song written by American singer Aretha Franklin and her then-husband, Ted White, and first recorded by Franklin. The song was released in 1968 as a single from the album Aretha Now, reaching number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming Franklin's seventh top ten hit in the United States. It also reached number one on the magazine's Hot Rhythm & Blues Singles chart, becoming her sixth single to top the chart.
The song was re-recorded by Franklin for the soundtrack of the 1980 film The Blues Brothers and in 1989 for the album Through the Storm. Pitchfork placed it at #15 on its list of the "200 Greatest Songs of the 1960s." "Think" is known for its catchy melody, upbeat tempo and challenging lyrics, which encourage listeners to think for themselves and make their own decisions.
