The lyrics speak of the protagonist feeling lost at sea, or like a rock sliding down a mountain, or like a leaf blowing in the wind. He wonders how deep the ocean or valley is, or how long the wind will blow. The protagonist concludes that he will always be these things until he dies.

The Beach Boys - Short Biography

The Beach Boys are an American rock band that formed in 1961 in Hawthorne, California. The original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love and their friend Al Jardine. The band is known for its vocal harmonies, teenage-themed lyrics and musical ingenuity. They are one of the most influential bands of the rock era, and one of the few American rock bands to have maintained its commercial position during the British Invasion. From the beginning, Brian Wilson was the band's composer, arranger, producer and de facto leader.

"Til I Die" is a deeply autobiographical song by American rock band The Beach Boys. It was released in 1971 on the album "Surf's Up" and later appeared as the B-side of the single "Long Promised Road". The song deals with themes of death and despair and is one of the few songs whose lyrics and music were written solely by Brian Wilson. A remastered and extended mix of the original recording was created by engineer Stephen Desper, which was later included in the Endless Harmony soundtrack in 1998.
