"Tiny Dancer" is a song written by Bernie Taupin and composed by Elton John. The song was originally released in 1971 on Elton John's album, Madman Across the Water. In 1972, the song was covered on the album Honky Chateau. "Tiny Dancer" was written by Bernie Taupin in memory of his friend and former roommate, Maxine Feibelman. Bernie and Maxine had lived together in Los Angeles and were very close. Maxine died of breast cancer in 1970. Bernie wrote the lyrics to the song in memory of Maxine and their friendship.
